What are the paper size limits for each MetaServer action?
MetaServer normalizes how to process images of a very high resolution. Images bigger than the specified size are moved to the Errors tab.
Below you can find the paper size limits for each MetaServer action:
Viewing (the viewer you see during configuration, in the Organizer and Validation): images that are greater than 17.5 M pixels are converted to the highest possible resolution from this list: 600, 400, 300, 240, 200, 150, 100, 72 or 50 DPI.
Convert to Searchable PDF: A0 size at 300 DPI (14000 x 10000 pixels = 140 M pixels)
Extract (OCR): A0 size at 400 DPI (18700 x 13250 = 248 M pixels)
A0 at 600 DPI is technically possible, but it takes a very long time to process.
Convert to Black & White: A0 size at 300 DPI (14000 x 10000 pixels = 140 M)
Convert to Multipage Tif: A0 size at 400 DPI (18700 x 13250 = 248 M pixels)
Import from Folder / Email: A0 size at 400 DPI (18700 x 13250 = 248 M pixels)
Scale Page(s): A0 600 DPI (28000 x 19850 = 556 M Pixels)
Export to Folder (Append & Prepend): you can update an existing A0 PDF using the prepend and append option in the Export to Folder action. This process does not require to load the A0 images in memory, so updating an existing A0 PDF is very fast and has no limitations.
